About the Author: Margery Hookings

Margery Hookings is a journalist and writer. A former editor of the Bridport and Lyme Regis News, she now writes magazine features and works for Windrose Rural Media Trust on creative projects within local communities. Under the pen name of Maddie Grigg, she has a weekly column about village life in the world’s longest running women’s magazine, The People’s Friend. She has a Masters degree in creative writing and a post graduate diploma in classics and ancient history. She is a reviewer for The Historical Novel Society and NetGalley.
