We’re always looking for new volunteers to join the team. Volunteers are essential to the smooth running of Festival week and help create the warm, welcoming atmosphere that defines Bridport Literary Festival.

Volunteering is a great way to be part of the Festival community, enjoy the behind-the-scenes buzz, meet new people, and attend the events you’re helping with.

As well as stewarding during the Festival, volunteers can help distribute brochures beforehand and at social events throughout the BridLit calendar.

To become a volunteer, please contact hello@bridlit.com

‘I love being a small part of BridLit each year.  Volunteering means I support the festival and get to meet interesting people including fellow volunteers and authors. I enjoy being part of the effort that makes this such a brilliant event for the town.’

‘Volunteering is an enjoyable way to get involved, be useful and sometimes listen to talks which I might not necessarily buy a ticket for. Joanna and the team are well organised, realistic with expectations of volunteer’s energy, and charmingly grateful!’

‘It is a privilege being a Steward for BridLit which is a highly regarded festival offering the audience a broad spectrum of authors, journalists and biographers.  Secondly, it takes place in November which can be a dead time of year, and this Festival offers enjoyable entertainment – people travel far and wide to attend.’
