NEW EVENT – Forget Me Not: Finding the forgotten species of climate-change Britain by Sophie Pavelle
We’re sorry but Benedict Macdonald has had to pull out of his BridLit event on Tuesday 8 November for family reasons.
However, we’re delighted that the wonderful writer and science communicator Sophie Pavelle has stepped into the breach to take his place.
In the thought-provoking Forget Me Not: Finding the forgotten species of climate-change Britain, Sophie describes the trips she took to see ten rare native species first-hand: species that could disappear by 2050 and be forgotten by the end of the century if their habitats continue to decline at their current rate.
She challenges herself to go the low-carbon way, travelling the length of Britain on foot, by bicycle, in an electric car, by kayak, on cargo ferries and in lots of trains.
‘The prose is as lyrical as it is sassy, as insightful as it is impassioned.’ — Amy-Jane Beer, The Guardian
‘A timely reminder of the magic we have in nature and what we are set to lose if we don’t wake up.’ — Isabella Tree
Sophie’s talk will be in the Bull Hotel Ballroom at 10.30am on Tuesday 8 November. Tickets already purchased for Benedict Macdonald’s talk will be transferred to this new event.
