As it’s Halloween, we thought we’d focus on ghosts.

But not the ghoulish kind…

Today, we’re turning the spotlight on Nick Pitt, who comes to BridLit on Thursday 10 November.

He’ll be at The Bull Hotel at 5pm, talking about what it’s like to be a ghost-writer.

We’re hoping that the former Sunday Times sports editor will spill the beans on publishing’s benign collaborations and shameful secrets.

Ghost-writers have become ubiquitous in fiction and in non-fiction, some visible and acknowledged, some kept invisible, and legally gagged, in the pretence that their book was written by a celebrity.

Pitt assisted Barry Hearn, the sporting impresario, with his best-selling autobiography: My Life: Knockouts, Snookers, Bullseyes, Tight Lines and Sweet Deals.

This is a must for sports fans – expect some explosive entertainment!
