Sir Nicholas Coleridge – The George Millar Literary Dinner

We are delighted to welcome Sir Nicholas Coleridge, the distinguished journalist, magazine editor and author, to talk about his bestselling autobiography: The Glossy Years, described by The Sunday Times as “the most entertaining book of the year”. Having spent nearly twenty years at the helm of Conde Nast, publishers of numerous titles from Vogue and House and Garden to Architectural Digest and The New Yorker, Sir Nicholas is currently the Chair of the Victoria and Albert Museum, Chairman of the Campaign for Wool and this year’s co-chair of HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant. He is also the author of several best selling books including The Fashion Conspiracy and six novels. He has been a member of the Council for the Royal College of Art and twice Chairman of the British Fashion Council, overseeing London Fashion Week. He is the recipient of many awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award as the Outstanding Contributor to British Media. Most recently he was knighted in HM The Queen’s Birthday Honours this year. His autobiography takes us from his schooldays, through Cambridge, working as a cub reporter on the Falmouth Packet newspaper, getting jailed in Sri Lanka whilst making a tv documentary on Tamil terrorism, to become editor of Harpers & Queen magazine and long term supremo of Conde Nast. Sir Nicholas will also take us behind the scenes of the V&A and share stories of this year’s Jubilee Pageant.
